we're considering moving close to the light rail station there, but i've researched on this board that the area around the station is not so safe....

so we're worried if it's safe to wait for the train during the day? is there security there?

Its safe , the only stations along the HBLR that are shady are Danfourth Ave , Richard Street ,and Garfield Ave. The rest are safe for the most part , during the nighttime use your judgement and you should be fine. Same goes for NYC Subway system....

No security. I would feel relatively safe during the daytime and peak commuting times (the LSP station is a big park and ride) At night? I wouldn't hang around very long.
