I'm trying to compare prices of getting into Jersey City for the day. I'm not exactly sure how a park and ride works, do you have to pay for the parking and then another payment for the light rail ticket or is it a package? And does anyone know exactly how much parking is for the day at Liberty State Park? Any info is appreciated, thanks.

I think you park, go to a kiosk and buy a ticket (you type in the number of the parking spot and then when you get the ticket) and then go back and put the ticket in your windshield (I think the inspectors actually print out a list of the parking spaces that were paid for, but better safe than sorry)

Anyway, I think you have to go to a seperate kiosk by the platforms and buy the light rail tickets seperately. Remember to validate them (there's another machine where you stick it in and it gets time-stamped)

I think parking is $3 for the day (but free on weekends), and the light rail ticket is $2.10 (so $4.20 round-trip per person)
