Yes, it is-I feel bad for the guy. People with Aspergers have an incredibly difficult time understanding social norms among other things-his mother probably could do a little better of a job handling him, but he probably finds his urge to interact with trains uncontrollable at times, which leads to incidents like these.

Aww..in a case like this I don't think jail will serve any useful purpose...I laughed when the article said he told the cops...bet they won't be leaving keys in the ignition anymore...

It would be a great way to get photos in secure areas, if you had your own bus. HAHAHA
You beat me to it, pvs!

But Nexis would hijack a train if he was gonna do it.

EDIT: UH OH, I didn't read the whole article or the rest of the posts...shall we start passing the hat for bail money?

I liked the part when she said he likes planes too, but hasn't gotten his hands on one of those...yet...

I don't think this is Nexis. Nexis said he is 19 years old, and this guy's been doing his thing since 1981.

Maybe Nex went to get his autograph, though!

I think more likely, a photo

But, yeah, where IS he?

On a related note, maybe DeCamp can hire this guy. At least they'd have ONE bus running.

Just reading the article now (been a really busy day), and WOW, this guy is really something!

"McCollum - who once did two years in prison for the attempted theft of a 60-ton locomotive"

"No one was hurt and the bus was in tiptop condition. That's how it's been in every McCollum escapade since he commandeered an E train and drove to the World Trade Center in 1981 when he was just 15."

He may be autistic, but he's managing to experience his dream. I feel sorry for him. It's really too bad he couldn't LIVE his dream, for real.

And BTW, the article made no mention of a camera, so I really don't think it's Nexis ;-)
