I used to live by Philly, and they had a GREAT poker leauge around the Philly area at several bars several nights a week... free to play the tournament, and if you won, you'd get a gift certificate to that bar. It was great.

Recently moved to Montclair, NJ, and searching for a decent poker game, but having a hard time... been here for a year already.

I'm not a high stakes player... but it seems everything is no-limit, so anything is better than nothing I suppose.

I did find the NJFREEPoker leauge, or something to that affect, and its similar to the Philly leauge, but Ive tried it and for me, it's not structured that well and you are although its 'free' and you're playing with chips not cash, you are pretty much 'forced' to tip the dealer. Ehh. FOr a FREE game where even if you win, you dont even win anything?

Does anyone know of any decent poker games in this area... (so I dont have to go into New York, AC, or Philly). I prefer tournaments or limit cash games, but ANYTHING will do. Thanks so much!!

There are plenty of poker games in Belleville, Bloomfield, Nutley, and parts of Newark. They just don't advertise.

There's usually one in the back of Satriale's Pork Store or the Bada Bing if I recall.

Now, as far as legal games, we have a whooooole city reserved just for that at Exit 38 on the Parkway.
