I'm planning on getting married in Lake Tahoe next summer. I won't be there to make any plans in person, and I'm wondering about the best way to proceed. Should I just do a resort all-inclusive wedding/reception thing (for a million dollars) or would it make more sense to get a wedding coordinator to plan our small wedding and reception? We are guessing 40 people or fewer attending.

Does anyone have any specific location suggestions? I'm more of a mountain-view person as opposed to a beach-view person, but I would be open to either. How about any nice wineries or parks in the area?

All responses appreciated!

I have friends that got married on skis at the top of Heavenly Valley. They have really cool wedding pix.

Take a quick trip to a local wedding chapel with your fiance, tie the knot, then spend the wedding money on something practical rather than filling some fatty's gullet with scotch. Down the road when you get divorced (odds are you will), you will reflect happily on your wise decision to forgo the ostentatious urge.

We saw one on the beach at the Aston Lakeland Village Resort that was beautiful, with views of the lake and mountains. Also, at the north side,
a million dollar yacht like Tahoe Bleu Wave Cruises would be nice at surprisingly reasonable prices from $1,200-$6,000.

Default Wedding Ideas

There are so many awesome places to get married in Lake Tahoe. You could use a Lake Tahoe wedding planner, and there are so many super photographers. If you are planning on getting married in the summer I would definitely go for an outdoor wedding. Even during the winter it might be okay, just make sure to wrap up! There are a lot of great wedding guides for Lake Tahoe weddings on the web. I would try to visit before, but if you can't there are still ways to make it special without being there ahead of time.

Default More info

Hi again. I also forgot to add that there are a lot of beautiful resorts and hotels that would be perfect for a Lake Tahoe wedding. Wonderful luxury hotels, boutique hotels, and other venues that might work. If you are looking to do the wedding on a budget (we all know how expensive Lake Tahoe weddings can be!), here is a good resource for cheap hotels in Lake Tahoe: www.tahoesbest.com/cheap-hotels-lake-tahoe . Some of these hotels might even have wedding special deals, so it might be helpful to look into them!
