Gidday, thought Id get more of a response in here than in the CA forums. Anyway I could be heading to work at Heavenly Ski resort in the winter and will probaly be living in South Lake Tahoe City, just wondering if anyone could answer these few questions:

1: How easy would it be to find accommodation for the winter?
2: How is the weather in the area, I imagine alot of snow and cold temperatures?
3: What are your overall thoughts of this small town?

Thanks

1. Easy
2. It is a ski area, it snows, If it isn't snowing it is bright and sunny.
3. San Jose east, a large flat town. But it is next to great land. Heavenly is pretty intermediate, pretty boring. Kirkwood is much better, on the north shore, life is better, and you have Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows.

I grew up there

And.... I worked at Heavenly one winter in high school!

1) should be easy
2) yup. snow or lots of sun. (and lots of snow by the way...)
3) Fun town. it is a small town. if you're into the outdoors and make friends easy then you'll love it. people are nice and there is every outdoor activity imaginable. if you want big city lifestyle you'll get bored. there are fun places to hang out however with a few ok sports bars/grills and pubs, and there are some funs places in the casinos to hang out/party at.
house parties are also what you do since there is not a lot of big nightlife. the beach is fun as are beach parties

Any other questions?

Tim
