My MIL is coming to visit and we're taking her to Nashville on Saturday. I remember my college roommate taking me around some areas in Brentwood & Franklin and showing off the country stars' homes (mid 1990's). Does anyone know of an unofficial/self-guided tour of the stars' homes? MIL is a big fan of the older country stars and I thought this would be fun to do on Sat afternoon. Have googled all kinds of things and cannot find anything self-guided.

Thanks!

Ok, my first thought is.....
Take her around, point out the big, beautiful houses and tell her so&so lived here, and so&so lived there....How would she know it wasn't true???
But I kid....I know that is not right....Hope someone can give you some guidance...Have a fun time

Put your MIL on that "Crazy Ladies" bus tour. Then you can go have a latte and read a book. ;-)

You would recommend calling the CVB or stopping by a hotel's concierge desk...Opryland perhaps. They would definitely have the info.

If you are interested in older stars, Hendersonville would be a good trip.

I drove a little tour bus for a couple of years around 1980-1981. I was running late from Brentwood going down Granny White to Eddie Arnold's house. I just couldn't make it to Eddie's house in time, so I just picked one. About the time my little speech was over, some fellow with a gut and no shirt comes around the house on a riding mower. "Who's THAT?" "uh, uh, that's his brother, he always mows...."

I felt bad. I got over it.

Ha, he grinned a waved almost as on cue. Good man. He just didn't look as good as Dottie West who'd sometimes be outside her house (Green Hills at the time) in her bell-bottomed white pant suit on her riding mower with all the red "big" hair just a'flowin in the wind. THEN, she's walk to the bus to say hello to the passengers.

This topic has caused me to remember quite a bit from those summers of driving. Oh boy. I should get started on my book now. lol.
