Default Cove at Priest Lake

When my son got married his new wife already lived at Priest Lake and he moved there with her. They only have a one bedroom so there's not much room for our big family to visit so we don't go over often. The few times I have been there it seems like a quiet complex. The gates state there are security cameras. The one time I got off the interstate at Stewarts Ferry and went over the dam, I was surprised to see what appeared to be a homeless person walking and I mentioned that to my daughter-in-law. She said when she first moved there she had gone walking on a trail near the dam. Later she was advised by a neighbor never to walk alone again. My son hasn't reported any incidences but then, he would never want me to feel he was in an unsafe area.

It's not bad...I have two friend girls that live in The Cove...for the money I think it's a pretty nice place and accessible to a lot of shopping/restaurants/downtown. As long as you don't have to commute to work south of town like Brentwood then you'll be ok with pretty much all commutes for the most part. But yeah...a female shouldn't hang around the dam trail by themselves but if you're a guy then shouldn't be an issue at all.

I'm a female, so would walking around the parking lots (of the apartments) be ok at night? Are the trails safe in daylight or no?

Well, I think women should always carry pepper spray (Sabre Red or Fox 5.3 are good)...but the trails in that area should be as safe as anywhere else (there are crazies EVERYWHERE)...The Cove is gated (although it's easy to get in without a code by following people) and walking around there inside the complex should be fine-they have some nice pool areas there.
