There is a house for sale in the Priest Lake Park area of Antioch that looks interesting to me. Now I know that Antioch has a bad rep in general, but even bad areas have good islands in them. Is anyone familiar with this area to provide some insight as to its desirability as a place to live? Thanks so much!

That is generally a pretty good area. We're in the same area but right on the edge with a Nashville address.

Since it is bank-owned and selling for much less than appraisal, is it a foreclosure?

Summary

Based on its location, be sure you ask if it was flooded in 2010 and if it requires flood insurance now.

I thought you had moved to Brentwood ... ?

The house in Brentwood that I thought was a done deal turned out to have pretty bad foundation problems when I had the home inspection done. I was really disappointed after looking for so long, but I cancelled the deal because of that. Loved the location, style, and size of the house; but I can't let my emotions rule my wallet. So it's back to looking.

Yes it is a foreclosure.

The lake water level came up a little, but nothing round here was flooded other than maybe a few yards with standing water. The water never came over Smith Springs Rd. This is a pretty safe area. In order for the area to flood, the Percy Priest dam would have to over flow. They would open the dam before that happened as a breach in that dam would be pretty devastating.
