4 of us just booked a flight to Nashville Sep 26-29. If we're looking for a good nightlife area is downtown Nashville the best place to stay?

It's about a mile or two from downtown, but it's worth the drive if you want a guaranteed good time:

Or, if you're confident enough in your game to think you can get some action without paying for it, there are several hotels right in the Lower Broad area that are within walking distance of all the downtown nightlife. I would probably go with the Hampton Inn on 4th for the best equilibrium of price, luxury, and convenience.

There's lots to see downtown, and within easy walking distance -- kind of touristy, but fun. Some small music venues and good restaurants (we like Demos), ranging from pricey to relatively inexpensive.
