Check Craigslist, I seem to always be seeing Boxes Wanted or Boxes to Give Away on there. Also, hospitals have tons of boxes that they will probably give you.

Good Luck with your move!

Go to craigslist classifieds: jobs, housing, personals, for sale, services, community, events, forums and then select your city and you can then go to For Sale and then go to Wanted and place an ad. Also, go to For Sale and then go to Free and see if someone is giving boxes away. Once you get there you will get the gist of it.

Any liquor store will give you their boxes if someone else hasn't already spoken for them. They're heavy-duty boxes, good for books or whatever.

Default walmart

Walmart! if you go there late at night (say, after 11pm) - when they are unpacking stuff - you can take all the boxes you want - and if you scour the store - you'll find tons of great boxes, at varying sizes.

there is one type of box that says something like "return to vendor" (i forget exactly) and those boxes - they'll stop you if they see you taking it. but as far as any other boxes, they're fine w/you taking it, the boxes simply end up as trash anyhow.

remember, walmart is open 7 days a week, 365 days a year, so do there anyday you want and have at it.

i had to do that twice, once when i moved from one apt to another (within nashville) and a 2nd time when i was packing to move from nashville to my current home of seattle. i'm sure they must have thought i was crazy as i walked out of there with so many boxes - but heck, it's there for the taking.

good luck!
