This makes me very, VERY happy!

I'm particularly glad it's going to Antioch. It's centrally located to the entire midstate and particularly close to the fastest-growing areas of Davidson County. As much as I love going to Atlanta, I'll be glad to head to Antioch for my IKEA fix.

I do think it's a good location. I know some wanted an urban location, but I think that's just a waste of real estate.

Antioch is also closer for Murfreesboro/MTSU students.

Yup. It's between the major university areas of the Nashville metro as well as all the apartments going up in Nashville. IKEA is the absolute perfect place to furnish small apartments/studios. And Antioch could really use a boost. It's also a great place to eat!

Also, the plan is to extend Hickory Hollow Pkwy across 24....so you won't have to deal with the awful mess of the Bell Rd exit.

Since the demise of the mall, that would be an understatement.

Look at what Providence did for the area near I-40 at the Mt. Juliet exit. (although it went from very little there -virtually nothing- to lots of retail there, so it didn't have a recent massive failure to overcome)

There might be hope for a turnaround in the far southeast Davidson County area. But they can't coddle the criminals and gang members or it will end up like Hickory Hollow. Don't blow it this time.

They have an IKEA in Ohio where I live, nothing special about it. I am just too lazy to put stuff together.

Basically another version of Sauder furniture. Never understood the appeal of either.

Great news. That area is perfect. High visibilty, between Nashville and Murfreesboro, and easier access. Antioch will definitely see growth with a strong anchor like this.
