Hi, my family and I may be moving to Nashville Summer 2014 and I'm looking for advice on location. I will work in North/East Nashville area and I want to live not to far (20-30 min) drive away.

I have three children (7, 5, 2) so schools are important to me. I will do private if necessary. I want a family friendly neighborhood that is safe and friendly. I think we want to do a lease purchase, while we look for a house. I will rent if I have to, but I need at least 3 bedrooms that excepts pets. I would ideally like to live in the neighborhood that we buy a house. My housing budget is about 350-400K if that helps with suggesting a neighborhood.

Some have suggested Brentwood, Hendersonville, Antioch, or Davidson County(whatever that means), but they all seem so different. Any insider insights?

Thanks

Do you have a street address for where you'll be working? There is East Nashville, and there is North Nashville. While they are not too far apart, there is some distance from point to point.

East Nashville has been undergoing a rebirth in the past few years. If you were going to actually be working in East Nashville I would start there. There are some wonderful old houses there (that survived the Great Nashville Fire of 1916). The prices have gone up considerably in the past few years however. I think they would be within your budget, but I'm not sure.

Someone has give you a wide choice. There is a world of difference between Antioch and Brentwood.

We could give you better suggestions once we know whether you're going to be working in, say, the northern end of North Nashville, or near downtown Nashville in East Nashville.

Narrowing down your job location and telling us a bit about your interests will help us suggest neighborhoods.

You also can use the blue "Search This Forum" tab on the right side of the main Nashville page to search keywords and read the many threads already written about those areas.

Hi,
We are moving to Nashville next year. Our kids are the same age, and basically we are looking for the same. My husband will work in Hendersoville. Can you share your findings?

No reason to look beyond Hendersonville
