Hi,

Has anyone been there?
Is it worth seeing?
I don't have a car..Is it difficult to hang out in the garden without a car?

Very nice and the current exhibit by Bruce Munro is best seen in the evenings but it's amazing. Only his 2nd installation in the US. Sadly, there is no public transportation that I know of unless Grayline runs a tour?

I would definitely say it's worth seeing. Yes, it would be difficult to get there without a car. Do you live here, or are you just visiting?

It used to be a family estate, and the home and gardens are walkable.

I'm sure there is a bus stop near there, but it's not a place people walk to, really. You drive there, you pay at the gate, park and walk through the gardens, which are very beautiful. I have never been impressed with their "art," though. I don't think they have much of a collection.

In fact, the last two times we've been, we just roam the gardens and haven't even gone into the home.

The closest stop is at Harding & Page, west of Belle Meade mansion. Then you have a 1.2 mile walk to Cheekwood. Then you would have the same mile to walk back to the stop. IIRC you would have to be very careful walking the distance with few/no sidewalks or other public facilities. While a visit on weekdays may be possible, evenings/weekends would be more difficult without a car.
