I'm going to an event this week, where is the best place to park to GET OUT fast? I read the Pinnicle lot took someone 1.5 hours on a normal day let alone during CMA fest.

I'm considering getting room so i can just walk back but the $400 price tag is holding me back.

I'd park north of Broadway and not on 5th. One of the lots on 3rd, north of Commerce. Or 6th to 9th, north of Commerce. When I leave the BatCave (333 Commerce) on a big concert night, I take the 3rd Street exit and head up to Charlotte. Or, the big lot below Flying Saucer would be a fast getaway, but it's more of a walk and a bit pricey (though I don't know how much parking downtown costs as I park at work).

Is this a daytime or nightime event? Are you staying elsewhere in town or driving back to Indiana?

N. Cal mentioned the lot behind the Flying Saucer, which is up by 10th. It's actually a right turn between the old Union Station (kinda gothic looking - train station turned ritzy hotel) and the Frist Museum which used to be an old Post Office. Turn right there . . go to the end of the train building (past the Flying Saucer which is a beer and pretzel and Bratwurst place) and there is a pay for parking lot on your right and down a hill.

The walk up over the hill from the Bridgestone is doable. It might take you 15 minutes? Are you male? There are a couple of short blocks where nothing will be open . . a high school, a church, BUT there will be SO much traffic on Broadway that you can always step out into the street if someone hassles you (unlikely but be aware).

There is a light there so you SHOULD be able to get back out to Broadway. If it's too congested then go out the back to Demonbreun to 16th and approach 65 from the other side of the highway. (Look at a map).

I would absolutely suggest parking up there . . . Or on the north side of Broadway but the further from the Bridgestone the better.

I would probably park on 3rd between Commerce and Union. There will be lots of people on the street walking back and then zip up to Charlotte, go left and you'll be back to 65 in no time. There are 3 or 4 different lots/garages in those couple of blocks.

Park by the stadium and walk across Shelby Street Bridge. Parking is free and plentiful.
