I read that it opens two hours before, will it be open earlier?

It's 5 blocks on Broadway. It's well lit, and before/after events there should be plenty of people on that path. I wouldn't worry too much about 10th.

Nashville Parking Coupons | Central Parking Nashville > Nashville City Library Garage

I regularly use the Library parking lot/garage. $4 after 5 or weekends. About 1 block to 5th, go past Ryman to Broadway. Open lots near Commerce/5th cost more. Get library stamp at other times.

Entrance near 7th/Commerce, get ticket, sometimes exit 7th or 6th, pay attendant, to Commerce. Go west to exit downtown.

The only problem with the Library parking is that it's VERY popular. 9 times out of 10, when I try to use it, it's full.

If you will be in town fairly early - like before 5:30 - you should have a good choice of parking. I personally love the Sun Trust building which is on 5th (left off Broadway, just past the Ryman, on the right). They often open for Event Parking - flat rate $10. As you leave, go up to Commerce and take that for a few blocks to avoid grid lock on Broadway. IF Sun Trust is not available, you can turn left on Commerce and right on 7th to try the Library.

Seriously, it's not NYC . . you just drive around until you find a parking lot with space and there are guys waving you in.

I am female and would not hesitate to walk up to 10th. I would just be aware on those two empty-ish blocks. In truth, it's empty so there's no one there . . and after the Bridgestone lets out there are people everywhere! The WORST place I ever parked for a Bridgestone event was The Pinnacle which is sold online with Bridgestone tickets. It was heck to get into because of traffic backed up on Broadway AND it did take a good half hour to get out of there.

Stay on the north side of Broadway and you'll be good OR at the end closer to 65 (ie 10th).
