Highly recommend Athens. Very much dislike Pancake Pantry.

Another chain: First Watch in Brentwood (right off of Franklin Rd., just south of OHB)

Not a diner, but Monell's breakfast is good!! And of course, very very plentiful.

Forgot to post this when it was announced a couple of weeks ago, but it looks like someone was listening to me about a diner downtown. City Cafe from Chattanooga will be opening a 24-hour diner on Lower Broadway.

I'm a huge fan of Fido... but recently tried Sky Blue Cafe in east nashville and it's one of my new favorites. Very good experience there. While the pancakes at Pancake pantry are good... it's a huge tourist trap. I wouldn't wait more than 15 minutes to get a table there.

I'd second Merridee's for a good breakfast.

I was there today, Rids78. Love Merridee's! Scratch bakery, above-average coffee (not on par with Frothy Monkey, but very good and less $), quiche, sandwiches, breakfast items like quiche, burritos, biscuits & gravy, and the best stuffed French toast around. Sinful.

All that and I only had tea. I'm no fun at all.

I cannot believe someone above said Loveless Biscuits were terrible. Seriously? Other than mama's, where have you had better?
