Have you considered Inglewood? There are some places for rent there.

I really wouldn't recommend living off Douglas, crime might be reasonable lately but in those neighborhoods crime is pretty unpredictable. You can see a random spike in robberies and shootings just next week for no reason at all.

Agreed with artemis, Inglewood perhaps? The real urban, chic areas of Nashville are fairly small, expensive, and high on demand. You may have to settle for a more quiet neighborhood that's nearby the trendy areas.

Also, are you in the "In Crowd" in East Nashville? I've notice the trendy East Nashvillians are kind of an inclusive community.

The east side of Douglas Ave from Gallatin Rd has turned into a nice street with houses selling for $$$ right now. I'm not that familiar with the west side of Gallatin...Inglewood could definitely be an option as well...

A house down the street from me went up for rent this weekend. Let me know if you want the phone number.

I'm in Inglewood.

Do you all feel like violent crime is getting out of control in Nashville? Just wondering if you have seen a big increase, etc and if police are cracking down on it any?
I love Nashville and hate to hear of so much violent crime, although I realize it is a big city and there will be some...but still.

Sadly, Nashville is in the Top 20 for violent crime rates in the country at the moment. I think we're at #14 or #16 can't remember.

It really only plagues certain areas though, if you're in a safe part of town you'll be fine.

I have never felt unsafe in my neighborhood. I think it depends on who you associate with, and what you do when you're with them.

Me neither. Have been downtown late, after a concert at the Ryman or the Bridgestone and although I did walk with a purpose and have my keys out, I have never felt unsafe.

LoL honey I have, I've had a homeless man follow me and the friends I was with for two blocks last I was in Downtown! Also had a con artist try to get our money, He said his wife was pregnant and he needed $50 to get a taxi to go to the (unnamed) hospital in the (unnamed) town. He was wearing a suit and was underneath the Shelby Street Bridge. We had to walk past him to get back to our parking space.

What I'm trying to say is just because you've never experienced crime doesn't mean it doesn't exist. It just means you're lucky

Well I would think so, Inglewood is a pretty safe area these days.

Also totally true! If you associate with drug dealers and hoodlums, crime will definitely seem to follow you around.
