Moved to Nashville last year, had Comcast (East burbs) for a year. Just cancelled, can't stand it.

What providers are good (as far as consistent billing and intelligent customer service) for cable TV and a moderately fast Internet connection? An offer (eg gift card) would be a nice bonus, too, but unnecessary.

Thank you

Your only other choices I'm aware of are AT&T (DSL & Uverse) and Clearwire. I used Clear for about two years and it worked okay, billing was consistent and fairly cheap, and was fast enough. I cancelled after moving to a different house where the signal wasn't near as good. AT&T's service was okay but their DSL wasn't much faster than Clear. I've debated installing Uverse, but you have to get TV service as well to waive the $150 installation fee so I haven't tried it yet. AT&T's billing wasn't much better though and I had to call them every now and then to contest strange charges on my account.

I just signed up with U-verse shortly after writing the above message. AT&T was supposed to install Friday. They just called and said it will be around the end of the month now before they can install. I hope this isn't the beginning of something bad.

That sure seems a little excessive.

We're a little stuck here with Comcast in our little neighborhood that the other companies don't know exists. But getting ESPN3 is a consolation prize!

I have Comcast and pay them around $46 per month for Free TV and internet. The internet can be tough at certain times, but other than that, it's fine.

Right now I have Comcast, and that works well enough that I'm not about to change. I have been seeing/hearing a lot of ads for Charter. Look into that.
