Curious to know what is being built just to the east of ILV, adjacent to the Vietnam Vets bypass. It is visible from the bypass, and appears to be under construction. I am not talking about the church north of Vietnam Vets, as that is clearly an expansion. I also know that the Hampton Inn is going up along Saundersville Rd.

I think those are apartments that are part of the Ashcrest development but don't quote me on that.

^ Ah good. I think there's room for a few more cars to squeeze in on VVB and Gallatin Rd.

The traffic light work will be welcomed. Hopefully it works. Every morning I drive down Gallatin Rd through 12 traffic lights, and always have to stop for most of them, and occasionally for all of them.

Last Sunday night at 10:30 I sat with two other cars at the light on N Anderson Ln as I waited to turn left onto Gallatin Rd for at least 2 full minutes, maybe closer to 3, before it changed. And I don't know how long it was red before I got there. Less than a handful of cars went by on Gallatin Rd the whole time. 2 minutes might not sound like a lot but sit there with stopwatch doing nothing and see. It is a lot for a traffic light, especially with no traffic.

I completely agree. The light situation is borderline ridiculous. In heavy traffic, I understand and expect to be stopped each time. But I had a similar experience recently and it was truly absurd being stopped at multiple redlights with no cross traffic.

That's a good question. It seems like I read something in the last 6 months about it...maybe in an article lumped together with the Saundersville Road exit issue with TDOT. Or maybe I'm misremembering. But in any case my recollection is they are waiting for TDOT funding. That Walton Ferry project has been in the works for nearly a decade now with no progress.

According to these, the OSI/WF alignment should have already begun. Not sure what's going on.

Walton Ferry - Old Shackle Island Intersection
This says "Construction is expected to begin in 2014".

All Sumner County projects:

I don't understand why they've never widened the 2 lane section N Anderson Lane from Walmart to Lowes where it goes from 4 to 2 to 4. Crazy. There's always minor road rage there as people think the world will end if they let you in front of them.

A friend of mine moved into the new Millstone subdivision on Saudersville and it came with UVerse. Today, a couple guys were laying UVerse fiber underground thru the front yards of everyone. Any idea the timeline before its available? A few months? Six months?

A "state of the schools" type article from Dr. Phillips. In short, Sumner County is doing pretty good.
