I think Williamson County schools are a joke....they're always trying to recruit the parents to, get this, help the teachers teach. It's just too overcrowded for them to even handle anymore. my children have learned absolutely nothing this year, and they go to one of the top schools in brentwood. I think WCS used to be good, but because of overcrowding they are quickly going downhill. i have also heard of kindergartners getting lost inside the school because there is no one really watching them during lunch/recess and they have slipped off into an area of the building they were not supposed to be. WCS really have a lot of work to do to be considered a viable option to private school.

What do you mean by 'help the teachers teach'? I'm sure all schools are looking for volunteers to help with certain things. And I'm sure your kids have learned absolutely nothing. As with most things, you get out what you put in to your education.

It also seems everything you've ever posted is an overly negative critique of Franklin/Brentwood/Williamson County, so your insight is incredibly valuable.

Wow-avalonrose, that is quite a critique! I'm surprised that has been your experience--I've not heard anything like that from anyone since we have moved here, and that definitely has not been our experience! If you feel your children are not being sufficiently challenged in class, have you contacted your children's teacher or building gifted teacher to see if there is anything that could be done? I've never heard of teachers recruiting parents to help teach--do you mean in the classroom? That would be a fairly serious complaint and one that should go to the district office, if valid.
