Blue Note records was famous for its cover art, though they may be entirely too "vintage" for your tastes. There is a book out of their album covers.

Bingo...classic stuff without really trying, aside from the quality shots of artists...just pushing product back then, not a big budget then...now it's being emulated...same with classic Rock album art.

Nostalgia is not what it used to be..

For someone else we took the booklet with the album covers in it that came with the Led Zepplin CD box set, copied them in the small size they were and framed each one of them in a long row in much larger frames and matts.

I think the Bat Out Of Hell LP by Meatloaf has a striking album cover. In fact, I remember buying it mostly for the cover!
