That's just one opinion about the song. Dylan doesn't explain himself, or the song. That's part of it's beauty. Everyone can take what they want from it, but no one can claim to know what it really means, that is, except for Dylan.

Maybe I'll have to look up what Anthony Scaduto, Dylan's biographer, had to say about the song. He interviewed Dylan for the book.

Who knows if what Dylan told the biographer is really true??? Maybe it was said to placate.

Comanche- Johnny Horton

Comanche was the name of the horse that was ridden by General Custer during the battle of Little Big Horn. He survived it and lived the rest of his life in Kansas (his body is at a Ft. Riley, Kansas museum, stuffed).

Blind Lemon- Leadbelly

It was a song about the famous blues singer Blind Lemon Jefferson. He and Leadbelly knew each other.

Nutbush City Limits- Tina Turner

Nutbush, Tennessee is the name of the town where Tina Turner was born. She wrote the song.
