Oh an I remember it well. And oh what a great song that is too. She said she dont like Mondays and wanted to shoot the whole day down. The little girl was the daughter of a pig Sergant if I remember right. She just took his gun. I wonder what the outcome of that. I bet she never got prison.
Don't assume - it makes you look like a fool.
She got 25 years to life.

She is still in prison and was recently denied parole. The gun was an xmas present from her dad.
You are right, I am constantly reminded everyday never ever to assume anything. But in this case the girl had a couple things going for her. Her father was a pig, she was underage thereby not responsible, she could easily and understandably claim insanity. After reading your link I just learned she has never and still dont show remorse. She is up for parole again next month. I will check on things because I am a bit fasinated by the whole story.
Can anyone who has kids tell us if it is normal to give a 16 YO girl a high powered rifle for Christmas? Wait........is it normal to give ANY gun to a 16 YO????
Mayyyyybe out in Hillbilly country but not in a big city.

I got my first 20 gauge when I was 10, my first rifle when I was 12. I recall I also had a pistol and a 12 gauge by the time I was 16, when I got my drivers license. I am pretty normal in this sense, not really a hillbilly. I imagine that's probably par for the course in Texas, where you live, as well.

I agree that the gun thing is not too strange. Also, in this case, it is especially apparent that the murders were not the gun's fault because the 16-year-old who had it was a complete lunatic. Now, maybe the parent should have noticed a red flag or two before deciding on a gun for a gift but who knows...
desertsun41 - Yeah, I noticed the parole thing too. I also have a fascination with strange murderers. I have a feeling that she won't be paroled next month.
