Listening to this makes me feel like I'm on a quiet deserted beach watching the sunset.

Default The Closer I Get To You - Luther Vandross & Beyonce Knowles

...stands by creek, hears gurgling... softly
pats mound of fur ... Lucky, left Cousin
Emma napping to come here and challenge
my fear jus a bit... water doesn't sound
rough, sounds kinda gentle... maybe I could
stick a toe in... clutches leash tightly
...we move closer to the gurgling sounds...

...fondly remembers Mr. MMC and our
"floating" challenge...

...sits in cool grass... arms 'round Lucky
and one big toe in the water... Lucky,
this feels great... breaking through barriers!

...I carried it with me for years, my small treasure. I recognized its value the moment that I encountered it - I looked, looked again, enjoyed and savored it, knew it a rare find - though I am not a collector, no dusty, cluttered curios for me. But this was different...knew that it would be with me even if I chose not to hold it near.

I placed my tiny treasure in the finest box made of the finest material. I could carry it with me everywhere, and I did. At first, I reached for it often, checking to be sure that my treasure was safe. As time went on, I reached for it far less often, but always knew that it was safe, for it was always with me.

Years passed and at some point I no longer felt the need to carry the small box with me... I had changed, those around me had changed, priorities shifted; this treasure held a little less value for me. I put it away (in a safe place) and, once in a while, ceremoniously, I took the fine box from its hiding place, would slowly, cautiously, open it and look inside. I made sure that I was alone, would not be disturbed during this ritual.

One day (after many years of neglect) I was saddened to see that my treasure had aged, dried, crumbled, though I'd kept it in the fine box...

...being quite irreverent..sorry MMC and other long time residents of the forum, I can't decide.

What, to you, represents something of value lost?

I'm actually using these songs to remix/mash-up into some deep house tracks. Just beautiful singing and raw instrument use that captivates me. Simple yet very technical.

What, to you, represents something of value lost?

:: just comes in... tired of life at tis point... of no
way out it seems :: ... the value of a nation...
the value of what the term countrymen used to
mean... the value of children's innocence... the
value of faith in human goodness... the value
of love itself... of a future bright with hope and
belief that anything is possible from a foundation
of goodness... lost of freedom... liberty... and
true brotherhood outside of military or
hate groups...

we create 500 channels to keep people divided now...
keep them pre-occupied on the level of an animal
as to shelter and safety... what sustained me is
no longer enough now... even the music is
disappearing... and in some countries out right
forbidden to be indulged in... the sucking of light
and love into a black hole slowly worms thru the
collective mind and heart...

we are slowly becoming less human with each
generation... less willing to be responsible or
attentive to that invisible thread that promoted
human life weaving a tapestry of meaning and
leaving it's hard fought gems of collective
contributions ( in fine arts... literature etc ) for
the world's benefit in each generation... wisdom
grows dusty with dis-interest, dis-use and
irreverence...

so I rant and even that is with a surgeon's precision
... so careful to avoid what must not even be hinted
at... the loss of the freedom to dream of love...
to expect a measure of sustained joy... all lost...
watch your back... watch your group's back...
watch watch watch... oh Lady Gerania...

Spandau Ballet - Gold

YouTube - Spandau Ballet - Gold

welcome back to the thread... I've missed you my dear
companion of deeper truths... I am sad and tired
I eat crumbs for joy... where have you been...

I pray my sweet flowers that live in mud still live...
am just a Howlin Wolf tis nite...

e'en my precious Ms. Natalay tis nay here to
distract me from the world's misery... her
antics gives me joy and lightness of heart...
her music gives life and controversy! Fiery
purpose and poses deep meaningful thought
in an unconventional way...

my biggest happiness today twas imagining the
ride in the alps with her and jumping out of the
plane! ... I laughed many times to self... tis the
magic of tricking the heart into belief of being a
real experience thereby blood pressure gaining
serenity and peace...

later I cried at what was being done to the world...

my heart leaped out of chest when saw thy post...
anxious to speak but now hesitant too...

oh that
woman! America! ... The secret of the blues twas
that tho saying its about a woman twas really
the oppressed way to speak 'bout America! too
dangerous to say openly... we coming quick to
blues time...

so demons keep me company...
... and inspire the planning for the next day's
fortunes... I howl at the moon tis nite in vain
... . for strength has fled these limbs... what say
ye my soul's companion... what light can be given
to satisfy what cannot be said... may love take me
into her bosom tis nite and let me sleep...
