Chris Wood's best work IMO was on Traffic's John Barleycorn Must Die album, released in late 1970. The songs? The title track and "Glad/Freedom Rider" (they run together). Good sax work by Chris regarding "Glad."
Lets not forget this one H!

The song "Lotta Love" by Nicolette Larson from 1978 has a good flute solo near the middle of the song.

The modern psych/rock band Mercury Rev had a flute player on their first couple of albums.

Also, the heavy modern psych/rock band Bardo Pond's lead singer Isobel often uses a flute, but it's frequently buried under avalanches of fuzzed out guitars.
