Every time I hear the beginning of that stupid "Hippie Chick" song I think to myself, "oh goodie, The Smiths!" Then my elation is crushed as it becomes clear that it's the stupid "Hippie Chick" song.

A quick lil' thang in 1969 that lasted about 4 seconds (1:20-1:24) that no one really paid attention to would become a HUGE mega hit in 1987.

Ok heres another 80s one......

The lame axel f theme from Beverly Hills Cop is a rip off of Yazoo's Situation.

Listen to the effects and the way the song is structured with a main riff.

That riff was originally written at least four years earlier. They made some minor changes to it...HIT!!

The first time I heard R.E.M.'s "Texarkana,", I wondered who stuck that Moody Blues song in there, because it sounded just like the Moodies' "The Voice."

Janet Jackson's "Let's Wait Awhile" is a blatant ripoff of America's "Daisy Jane". Another one of her songs ripped off "Ventura Highway". Hope the individual song writers got their royalties!

When Godsmack wrote 'Time Bomb', they completely ripped off Nine Inch Nails' 'Last'. It's almost identical.

Also, the acoustic guitar in Green Day's 'Boulevard of Broken Dreams' sounds eerily similar to that in Oasis' 'Wonderwall'.
