How about Alan Rickman as Mr. Marsden in "Quigley Down Under?"
My personal favorite movie Villain has to be the character played by Bruce Dern in "The Cowboys." I didn't like that movie the first time I saw it, and later realized that it was because I hated that character. It was only when I watched it again that I realized that he played the role so well that I felt what I was meant to feel about him. I've loved that movie ever since, but still hate that character!
Another favorite is Lee Marvin in "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance." He played a good bad guy.
So is Richard Boone in "Big Jake." Another great performance, IMHO.

Kathy Bates did an outstanding job in Misery. She played a great villain.

Richard Dern played the bad guy well in so many movies. He was the epitome of the villain in many Westerns on television and the big screen.
