I harkened on these two films in another thread and I'll add them here. I think they would make a nice double feature:

Little Romance
Little Manhattan

My favorite movie is "the step mom" maybe a little prof. in it but if there was it was tastefully done to show emotion not just to be said
Very good movie about a mom dying of cancer and the new stepmom's role in this family
hits home as I am a stepmom to children whose mother has died of cancer

Fav scene is when Julia Roberts (stepmom)say
"Picture her, years down the road, on her wedding day, me telling her she is the most beautiful bride ever, and my biggest fear is that all she can say is that 'I wish my mom were here'"
and Susan Sarandon(mom) replies "my biggest fear is that she won't"
makes me cry everytime

Default Clean movie?

If you don't mind subtitles, Jules Ito's "Tampopo."

It's described by the director as the first "Japanese Noodle Western."

It's hilarious.

LOL ... we don't own the movie but every time it's on TV I have to watch it. My husband just rolls his eyes at me. He can't understand that a girl just needs to cry sometimes and Stepmom always hits the spot!
