Some great movies on this thread!

I loved Jim Carrey's performance as Andy Kaufman in "Man On The Moon"

All good choices, above, but I am a bit surprised that no one has yet mentioned Anthony Hopkins. . . so excellent in so many roles, my particular favorite as C.S. Lewis in Shadowlands. . . .

If you don't or even if you do know the movie, check out Broderick Crawford in the original, "All The King's Men."
This is the scene where Willy Stark, thinly disguised Governor of Louisiana Huey Long story comes into his own,
when he realizes that he has been a dupe, "a hick", for big money.

I'm a big fan of Sean Penn, but he didn't pull off the remake, in my opinion.

You're right, Broderick Crawford was much better as Huey Long, than Paul Newman was as Earl Long.

What was the movie Sean Penn just did, with Jude Law as his co-star?

I thought that was a remake of the Huey Long story, wasn't it?

"All the King's Men" by Robert Penn Warren was a novel, but transparently based on the life of Huey Long. The movies use the novel's character' s names (Willie Stark) but are intended to fit the Huey Long persona.

Right, right, I forgot. Thanks.

But where does Paul Newman fit into this?
