OK everyone. I don't know how many of you out there are avid movie/DVD collectors like I am or not but here is something that should be not only fun but informative as well. Keep in mind everyone has there own view so I guess there is no "right answer" but we should still have a bit of fun with this. Also, I have noticed that IMDB and Net Flix cannot seem to always agree on the genre either. So here is the question: what do you consider a Horror movie and what do you consider a Suspense/Thriller type of film.

For me a Horror movie is anything that is gory and bloody such as Wolf Creek, Hostel, Scream, and such.

A Thriller type would be anything that could be suspenseful or scary but not neccessarily bloody such as The Others, An American Haunting, The Skeleton Key, The Ring, Dark Water, and such. I actually find those films more enjoyable.

To be honest I got so fed up with the different genre classifications that I just organized all these types under SCARY MOVIES.

Your distinction is pretty good. A Thriller is anything that inspires dread, fear, or terror, but not necessarily with an "Ew" factor. Horror tends to have a distinctive "ew" factor and often involves the supernatural.

But there are lots of movies that really straddle the line.

Silence of the Lambs strikes me as more of thriller, but there are some truly horrifying bits.

I like to put those movies, The Others, The Ring, An American Haunting, etc in a category called Supernatural....and I don't watch Supernatural genres because they weird me out. Horror is like Friday the 13th, Saw, Halloween, Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Thrillers to me are more like face paced keep you on the edge of your seat movies, Trapped, Kiss the Girls, Eagle Eye ... just my thought

I prefer 'Thrillers' over Horror films. Blood, guts, and gore, are a little too much. I like Suspense and Sci-Fi also.

Very good category, I totally forgot about Super Natural. I like that one. Good call.
