We just saw Book Club, the Next Chapter, today. DH didn’t care for it, but I liked it. I’m an old lady like the actresses.

Panic Room (2002)

A good thriller worth one look....but after that, all the secrets are gone. Still, motivated me to do some unpacking while I watched. A 7.5.

Just watched A Man Called Otto on Netflix with Tom Hanks and his real life son Truman. I liked the movie a lot but I wouldn't recommend it for anyone who is suffering from depression (I could be wrong).

I can't decide who Truman Hanks looks more like: Rita or Tom (I guess he looks like both).

The Road Warrior

Despite having been around to see Neil Armstrong walk on the moon, I had never seen this flick till now. Thunderdome, yes, seen that relentlessly for it was the only good tape we had on deployment.....but not this one. It must have been quite impressive when on the big screen and it has a whole lot more to give than other desert post war flicks, such as Warlords. That said, maybe it isn't my kind of flick or my tastes have changed as I've aged or it was just the way the world was back then, before the Net, before or at the dawn of massive cable TV. While it did have a good making point here and there, like the girl telling the gyro captain that she can't abandon her home (much easier for a man to do that....and not realize it in women), generally felt rather mediocre to me.

The end music was pretty well done, giving a feeling of closure to the movie, another thing that we often skip or rush through in our modern age.

For how it once was, 7.7.

Trail of the Screaming Forehead (2007)

Anybody else watched this one?

Just found it surfing thru streaming services. It's basically a 21st century parody of 50s monster/alien invasion movies. Foreheads basically seeking out victims/hosts in the general population.
Looks very low budget, with a lot of easy memes/clichés.. but has a surprisingly good cast, with a lot of familiar actors.. I thought it was entertaining in parts. Currently on Tubi.

Just an awesome movie, that and the prior one, Mad Max. I'd say those are the best two of the whole franchise.

I thought it was OK myself. My friend didn't care as much for it but she did enjoy seeing the women playing the roles.
