The Eagle Has Landed Another Tubi find
WWII story of a fictitious Nazi attempt to capture Churchill from small town on England’s coast
Michael Caine, Robert Duvall, Donald Sutherland, Donald Pleasance, Jean Marsh, and Jenny Agutter—
Well done and well acted for most part—Caine’s troop of German soldiers play against type with their sense of fair play
Pleasance is particularly remorseless as Himmler—and Duval’s Radl with his false hand reminds me of the Inspector in Young Frankenstein to certain extent although much more realistic
Marsh’s comment that the British in South Africa were the first to use “concentration camps” to isolate dissident factions of a country’s population shows that the Empire was not totally innocent of war crimes in its history
interesting to compare this with “Inglorius Bastards” with its own revision of WWII history
It is really a pretty good movie

Bullet to Beijing
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0113633/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_6

Decent spy movie that keeps one involved for 2 hours but slightly weak here and there. At times one wonders about the "Silver Streak" associations, the joke that was used, later, in the Opus comic strip, and some aspects that seem like, "Hey! We got to finish this movie!". Finally, having the major players do a voice over about "living happily ever after" as the credits roll I find really takes away from any good feeling the viewer might have achieved in watching. A 6.3.

Bedazzled

Tonight's movie as that Raquel Welch passed today. I was rather expecting more of her in it but her dancing scene was much more of an impact than the bed room scene. Otherwise, the flick is okay and while Peter Cook makes a great Devil, it is still a flick that doesn't carry very well. A 6.1.

On Hulu—The Postcard Killings Geoffrey Dean Morgan, Famke Janssen, Cush Jumbo
Morgan plays a NYPD detective whose daughter and new husband are murdered in ritualized killing, part of a series in Europe
He investigates with the help of a German detective and a journalist — Cush Jumbo—and helps discover who did the killings
Location shooting, some logical red herrings, and Dennis O’Hare in small role make it worth watching

Lady in Cement

Raquel Welch again and more of her this time. Decent flick but it is more fun for the scenery of the way things were, way back then. A 6.0.

On Netflix The Woman King starring Viola Davis
Davis is so good but her emotional pain tells you there is a story underlying the obvious

Waited and waited til it was free to watch
Was surprised to see Maria Bello’s name down for original script and ex producer
Not much mention of her role in creating this project years before and waiting to get the right team and money to support filming

Measure of a Man (2018)

A coming-of-age movie that was better than most. I don't necessarily seek out teenage movies, but I must have watched something similar and this one (suggested) has been in our queue forever. Glad we watched it.
