Been a tough week, so took me a while to get thru it. Drags a little but when it comes to the big battle scene, it's pretty good......even if the US Cavalry can't recognize a "tank trap". A 6.7.
The bad thing about a Banacek mystery is that once you realize it is a magician's trick, it becomes easy to unravel it. A good thing or two is that you remember the trick but not the rest of the movie so there is a lot there to enjoy on the rewatch.......and that 70s kind of life when you have lots of money! A 7.6.
Saw it in 3D, the way it was meant to be seen. 3D has disappeared from US theaters so nice to see it for this one. Visuals are feast for the eyes of course, but you know what you are getting with a James Cameron movie, always the latest and greatest technology.
Story was about right in terms of a sequel, I sat through the entire movie without taking a bathroom break or gettiing bored, my sign of a great movie. I believe they already filmed the other two movies or most parts of it, so will be interesting to see how they take it. They can't do another retread of the same topic, and they can't just show a movie only introducing new characters in a new environment.
I didn't see the trailer before putting this one on, so I wasn't expecting a full-on zombie flick lol, but it was alright. Based on a Stephen King novel.
German language (or Hebrew maybe), German subtitles, no English, but that's okay, for it is one joke after another spoof of spy flicks, like Val Kilmer's Top Secret! (or perhaps Airplane! but I have never seen that completely). A 2.0 if you don't like that kind of humor.....which I don't.
Watched "Smile" tonight and while I don't fell like it was a total waste of time, it wasn't particularly good and Sosie Bacon wasn't very impressive at all. A couple good scenes and a couple good jumps and that was about it.
Also featured a cat death which as a cat person I'm generally not down with, though in this instance it set up what was arguably the best scene of the entire movie. RIP, Mustache!
It was filmed in 1974 and it's pretty typical of that era but I liked it. Didn't love it but liked it. It was fun to see Ellen Burstyn young as well as Kris Kristofferson and Harvey Keitel. Oh and a SUPER YOUNG Jodie Foster!

Smile?
That 70s flick about the teenage beauty pageant with Barbara Feldon? That Smile?
