Well, my granddaughter and I went to the theater (for the first time in over a year!) to see this and we were not disappointed! It made me holler or squeal out loud three times! (Which was great.) We had buttered popcorn and big sodas. It was loud at some points and very, very quiet at other points which was terrific. I thoroughly enjoyed myself.

I love Emily Blunt in this movie (and in others). She seems perfectly cast for these movies in particular. I loved knowing more about the back story. I really like the different characters, especially the guy from Peaky Blinders, can't remember his name and I'm too lazy to google it.

Anyway, I thought it was suspenseful and well done. Yes, you do have to suspend some belief but isn't that normal with just about any movie involving aliens? LOL

There will definitely be a 3 and for once, at least so far, the sequel is as good as the first one in my opinion.

The first job of a movie is to provide entertainment to the masses. Most people are willing to overlook logic watching a film as they feel they are receiving entertainment. Many people do not go to a movie to think; they go to a movie to deliberately turn their brains to pudding. It is an escape from real life.
I go to a movie for the total experience - the theater, the huge screen, the expensive snacks, the dark, the sounds, all that. I think most movies require a certain amount of "suspension of logic."

I thought is was only an OK movie. Very predictable. Plus the bare feet really bothered me. They kept taking camera shots of dirty & scratched feet. Just put on the darn shoes already. Man with a beard who made it to the island, wore shoes. However, I did jump in my seat a few times when the creatures sprung on people or things, they were well crafted.

Poor woman. She raised not one, but two dumbass kids. I’m tired of the disobedient kid creates issues for everyone and then has to be bailed out genre. This movie was very much in that vein, but with an aliens invade twist.
