Curious, if you saw it, what your thoughts are on it. Want to see it if the reviews are good.

I saw it Saturday. I thought it was a good sequel to the original. My SO didn't think the songs were as memorable, but all the songs were good in the moment.

It had its faults (I think EBlount felt a bit ‘try hard’ at times), but overall I think they did a good job of creating something new and fresh while appropriately honoring the original. I liked that they managed to create original songs that really stuck with the spirit of MP and even wove many of the old musical themes in so it felt familiar. (“A Cover is Not the Book”) has been stuck in my head for days!

My favorite moment was when DVanDyke appeared and the theater erupted into applause.

Hmmm. Seems not all is well in The Magic Kingdom. After the relentless marketing effort this takes me quite by surprise.

My daughter (a graphic artist/designer) refers to them as the Evil Empire.

Yes, I've seen it. I thought Dick Van Dyke, and Julie Andrews were great.
