We were watching it and it was so disappointing. At one point the film froze on Kirk's face and then the film melted, obliterating Shatner (who directed it).
One of the "Dead" movies (Dawn of the Dead, Night of the Living Dead, etc.) I forget which one it was, but it was so bad that it was the only movie I've ever walked out on. (I wish I had walked out on Summer Heat from the early 1980s; I kept hoping it would get better, but it never did.) I should have asked for my money back, but I didn't.
Incidentally, I wouldn't demand a refund for the concessions if I had in fact consumed them before walking out. Even if the movie stunk, that doesn't mean that the popcorn wasn't good!

We cheered.
You hear about things like that happening, but to actually experience it . . . not only would I have not demanded a refund, I might have paid the theater some extra money!
I remember one time when I allowed a pretty smart trainee put together a schlock film from the shipping reels onto the platter. He assured me he was ready, we were understaffed and the film had come in late while we were balls to the wall, so I let him do the job. He got three reels out of sequence and one tails first. We gave out refunds, but the sad thing was that after I corrected his problems we determined the film had actually looked better his way. I'd remember the title if it was worthy of remembering - some horror film, I think.
Because you're not entitled to a refund because you chose a bad movie.
(Although there have been many that I was stewing over wasting the money.)
