I have searched this forum for "unique/different/odd/" movies and maybe a couple of other search terms.

Example. I think THE TRUMAN SHOW was one of the most unique movies ever made especially given all the government monitoring today and privacy being a thing of the past.

Perhaps another is FORREST GUMP.

Does anyone have any better search parameters?

Also, if you have some movie recommendations along the lines of "different", "unique", I'd appreciate those as well.

I am NOT saying these are the only good movies. Hollywood has made many pirate movies. They have made many war movies, man against the elements, boy meets girl etc.

Thanks for any thoughts.

If looking for "unique" yet "different/odd" film, look no further than a personal favorite from 2006 called Perfume: the story of a murderer.

Interesting comments. I had not heard of most of the movies mentioned.
