There are two Carmel Valleys in CA

By the way and for what its worth to the readers: after living in the Santa Cruz/Monterey area for 49 years, our move to Carmel Valley in the San Diego area was the best decision we ever made.

BTW, glad you are enjoying SD. My wife is from SD and I from SoCal. Moving to Monterey has been a great move for us after 40+ years in SoCal. So I guess it comes down to personal preferences. Sometimes you can appreciate an area more when you are ready for a change to a new environment.

MtnSurfer, you are correct: it does come down to personal preferences. We have greatly appreciated San Diego's warmer weather and fantastic high school (Torrey Pines High School) for our son. Happy to hear that the MontereyBay area is a good fit for you. A lot of people seem to like the area. (We have no problems renting out our home up there.) Thanks for the link to the admin.
