Agreed! Snow pictures are always so beautiful.

People should definitely STAY AWAY from Montana if they do not enjoy the snow/cold, in my opinion.

I enjoy snow when I am in a cabin looking out the window. We do get some snow here in OK, and it is just the right amount.

Default my turn

Hi there. I'll try to attach some pics here of our Northern Michigan snow...

Here's a picture of a nearby lake in winter:

From what I have read, we're more humid here, and get more snow, but the temps can be more extreme there due to the higher elevation and low humidity.

Yep.

We see birds, squirrel, turkey, deer, racoons, fox, my son saw a bear (so did the neighbor), and WAY too many chipmunks. Bald eagles and loons fly over our house on a regular basis. It's pretty quiet during the winter though.

this is kind of a late post but couldn't resist, there was an story in the missoulian a while back comparing this winter to 96 and i'd really like to no where that was at. here it is the end of march and we still have 26 inches of snow but in 96 at this time we had over 4 feet. i recorded 274 inches the winter of 96 just 146 so far this year. at one point in 96 we had just a little over 8 feet on the level, the most we had this year was was 46 inches. no comparison!!

NTMYman, that's incorrect to say that kids don't get off for snow days. I went through the Whitefish School District from K-12, and got a number of days off! We had one day built into our calendar each year for a snowday so we could figure on at least one day most years. If we didn't use it, then we were done with school a day earlier in the spring. If we needed more, then they extended school by however many snow days that we got.

Typically we got about 1 - 3 in Whitefish.

This is the absolute truth: We have a 3 rail, split-rail cedar fence around our property that is 4 foot high. It snowed so much that it covered the fence. We actually jumped off the deck right out of the hot tub into the snow - then back into the hot tub!

I got up on the roof to clear snow because I feared that the chimney had been covered with snow. It had not, but I removed as much of the four feet as I could without falling off!
