Ah, yes. The Swiss Family Robinson tree house. Sadly they took it down some years ago. Today's yutes (youths) don't seem to read the classics nowadays and besides, it was anything but tech related so today's children just weren't/aren't interested.

He was the middleweight champion of Australia.
Came to America in 1893 and became co-owner of a saloon in St. Louis with Louis Phelan.

Joseph James Quinn (1864-1940)
He was the first Australia-born player in major league baseball. He started his career in 1884 with the St. Louis Maroons when they won the pennant. He was later the manager of the St. Louis Browns.

Did you ever take the Universal Studios tour ?
When I was there I got to see the War Wagon that was used in the John Wayne movie, it was just setting in a field with weeds growing around it. It deserved a better fate than that.

Never been there but as a child and young adult I got to know John Wayne who also had a home in Newport Beach where I lived. Nice guy who was friendly and unassuming. Even his boat, the Wild Goose (I was on her once) was nothing fancy. He was larger in life than he seemed in his films.

The only celebrities I ever saw in person were Walter Brennan and Jay North (Dennis The Menace.)
