An abundant number of days in the middle of summer that feature morning fog is an indicator of a harsh winter ahead! This has been occuring with regularity in the Great Lakes as well as New England.

Anything that cools the air enough to mask the horrible smells coming from the paper mill is going to receive praise in I Falls!

Barrow, Alaska is the ice box of the nation. In the month of July they have an average day time high of 46F and an average night time low of 34F.

Now that is what you call cold as hell by July standards.

I can imagine. Wisconsin has recorded freezing temps in summer. Right now, I sometimes long for winter.

Barrow's "summers" are colder than Atlanta's "winters".

Fine by me. If I ever get any money for a plane, I will head for Alaska for a short time. I am a cold weather type of person.

I guess my uncle in the TC wasn't kidding when he said it's been an unusually cold summer! But that's what keeps life interesting! I remember snow on the 4th of July once in Bozeman, MT when I was a wee little one!

My mom didn't mention any frost but she said that she wanted to use the fireplace to take the chill out of the air!
