Your statement reminds me of a radio announcer on a Nashville radio station.
They were having a stretch of cold weather and she kept saying how cold it was in Nashville( +10 that night) The other announcer asked if she would rather be in Minnesota cuz we were -30 that same night.

She replied once it gets as cold as +10, there really is no difference how much colder it gets cuz it feels the same.

Your post reminded me of her.

I have experienced -42------(hope I never do again)
I have never experienced -60, and hope I never will.
Well, I think that -30F or colder with any type of breeze feels unbearably cold regardless. I can definitely tell the difference between -10F and 10F, though.

Ahh, if only that were true. It seems it is always stinky - all temps and seasons. And especially when it is raining. Be glad you don't live up here.

In that case I would not advise living in parts of Louisiana, where there are paper mills. It never gets that cold, so the paper mill smell pretty much stays around. As of Intl Falls, well, if the cold gets rid of the paper mill smell, then very good.

No, unfortunately cold doesn't get rid of the smell. I believe cold are pushes everything down from the atmosphere.

I remember traveling through Rumford, ME during a winter inversion. It is a paper mill town. The smell was absolutely terrible and the temperature was -15F.

I Falls never reached 80 in July, several days with highs in the 50's.
You the corn is supposed to be knee high be the 4th July it made it by August 4th. Now with a few days around 90 & some in the 80's it made to chest high. Now I'm just waiting for the mid to late August frost.

I didn't think much corn was grown in the I Falls region?

Barrow Alaska may be cold, but International Falls holds the rights to being the Icebox of the Nation. I believe they are only considering the continental U.S. They have the coldest mean average temp in the Cont. US.

Then KSTP is wrong; it hit 90F five times in Minneapolis in July 2010, topping out at 94F on 07/27/2010:
