My understanding is Rep. Omar brought a Liberian refugee who is in the US legally with Temporary Protected Status who is on the verge of losing her legal status due to a recent decision made by the Trump administration. This doesn’t seem like an outlandish move given that she herself came to the US as a refugee. I don’t at all understand the vitriol towards immigrants...aren’t we a nation built on them?

Omar's latest bigoted tweet is being widely reported across the media today (well except for the Star Tribune, of course). Even Chelsea Clinton has called Omar out for conduct unbefitting a member of Congress. Omar is every bit as bigoted as Northram, with the only real difference being that Northram owns his bigotry. I am ashamed that she so easily got elected as my representative. Shame on the Democrat party for promoting such a horrible person.

So is Star Tribune off the hook now that they released an article about it or are you still outraged at them?

Yes and I think most would agree that an apology is in order. Call me ignorant but I didn’t automatically jump to the Jew/money trope when I read the Tweet and it seems like that wasn’t the intent of her message if you accept her response. She clearly has a strong opinion about Palestine/Israel and has a very poor way of articulating it....and that is besides the point that attempting to debate this on Twitter as an elected congresswoman...is a really really bad idea.

Anyway, I wouldn’t call myself a fan of Rep. Omar at this point but for the most part I think she has good intentions. I just wish she was more calculated and put more time and thought into her communications.

If it wasn’t her second apology in three weeks for anti-Semitic tropes I might be willing to say she just made a mistake but the frequency with which she posts that stuff tells me that she can’t hide her true feelings. The only one I saw who outright supported her today was David Duke, not exactly a great endorsement. She is a disgrace.

What I really wanna hear is what our newly declared Presidential candidate has to say about this. C'mon, Amy......no more hiding in the DFL shadow now! All of the world is waiting....
