As of now I will go ahead and stay somewhere in MOA area.
Hard to believe, but the Radisson is currently cheaper than the Country Inn.

Thanks for all the help!

I'd stay there then. It's newer, nicer, not as close to the MOA-but only a mile away or so and the waterpark is fun!!

Maybe the kids would enjoy a train ride, too. Not familiar myself with what kids can do downtown, but I have memories of riding the trolley from downtown Los Angeles out to Griffith Park for a visit to the zoo. By the way, route 440 of the Minnesota Valley Transit Authority goes from MOA to the Minnesota Zoo in Apple Valley. Their phone is (952) 882-7500

Found a pretty good deal at the Crowne Plaza on Appletree Square. The rail is a 5 minute walk away. Shuttle to both MOA and airport. I may have found a winner.

Checked out the other threads for stuff to do. Very excited to explore!

That rail stop is basically across the street from there so that will work well. You can take the rail to both the MOA and Airport if you wanted as well.

I don't know what else is on your agenda, but we thoroughly enjoyed our time at Como Park and Zoo. It was fabulous! We were staying by the MOA and used the bus system to get to Como.

We recently stayed at the Embassy Suites; there's a light rail stop right there. The train goes to the Mall as well as downtown.

The train has a 24-hour pass for about $6.00, a bargain for active visitors. The hotel has a free hourly shuttle to the Mall during business hours, every hour at 15 minutes past the hour and returns from the Mall every hour at 25 minutes after the hour. The light rail is clean, safe and quick enough. Trains run every 10 or 15 minutes; excellent service.
