I'll be starting a job downtown near West Wisconsin and North 6th street. Is anyone familiar with parking in this part of downtown? What are parking rates like? Is there anywhere that is a bit further away that I could park to save on parking?

Not sure about the monthly rates, but the Boston Store ramp at 4th & Michigan is $6 if you're in before 9 and out after 2. There's also the ramp right on Wisconsin between 5th & 6th (not sure of the address, but it's the only one there). I don't know how much that one costs, but it's connected directly to the office building there.

Overall, on the western end of downtown, parking seems a bit more reasonable. Once you hit the river and go east, it gets more spendy.

Yeah parking downtown can be very reasonable compared to the rest of the country of similar sized cities. Despite what many people say that there is hardly any parking downtown what they really mean is that there is not hardly any FREE parking downtown and why would there be? most cities well I can't find one city that offers free street parking on downtown streets after 6 or 7 and on weekends. As your situation dictates you should be able to find plenty of what I call cheap parking downtown if you can abide by the in before 9 and out after 2 or 3 rule as stated by RSO. What the lots then do is count on you to be there every day and then they can hike up the rates for evening downtown guests by opening the lots up at 2,3 or 4 and sometimes 5. You can find monthly rates very cheap if you are willing to walk a couple of blocks. Parking downtown is only a hassle for people who can't parallel park or people not willing to pay for parking.

Hello,

I work downtown. I pay $105 per month. I've heard it can be more expensive, but I like that I park in the building that I work in.

Hope this helps.
