True - but it takes an act of the CO to disregard the chit. And your chain of command would really really have to truly hate you to disapprove a chit for no good reason.

Yes, he's stationed there. The ship JUST got in a little bit ago. Im really really worried now...

One of the first things they set up is power, water, and telephone, if that's his homeport. So they don't have to run off the ship's reserves any longer.

You should be able to call and find out what's going on.

Call??? Ive never called him...there isnt even a number.

He always calls me from whereever/whatever he uses.

When in port ships do have a few phone lines but they are limited to official business most of the time. unless he actually worked in the office that had an outside line it would be very difficult to just call.

I was lucky, I was the supervisor for the telephone shop and of course we had to have 1 line for testing purposes lol

Thought Id hear from him today over Skype, but so far no luck. Gotta be at work at 5. I really, really hope I can go to see him.

Speaking from experience As the sailor on the other end of the visit, you should take a well written card with you, spray your favorite perfume on it and give it to him after you leave. Hide it where he will find it, but he will open and read it, and smell you! Then on those lonely nights when he is missing you he will still be able to open the card and smell you. It sounds cheesy and it probably is, but it means alot when you are thousands of miles apart!
