On the last week I signed the contract with the US Navy, but the shipping date to boot camp is January 2014. I am really disappointed because of that long waiting time. Therefore, I am considering the option to switch my branch to the Army (I heard that Army sends recruits much quicker than Navy). But I am not sure how long will it take to release from Navy DEP? As far as I saw, the Navy has a lot of people to join and I think they won't be much frustrated if I decide to release from them.
Should I take the RISK and switch my branch in order to be shipped as soon as possible?
I would NOT go Army!
Been there, did that, it was a mistake IMO!
I spent a "minority tour" in the Navy, then got out. After a year, I wanted to re-enlist. My first ex-wife said "Don't go back in the Navy, we will be separated too much!"
So, I joined the Army.
In the Navy, I was at Naval Air Station level aircraft maintenance. The only thing I could not do to an aircraft engine was split the crankcase. The Army put me in an organizational level maintenance unit. I could replace the spark plugs and change a magneto, but that was about it.
As for the first ex-wife, out of a three year Army enlistment, we were together for one year.
The Navy would have been better.
jWait for the Navy to call you. IMO, you will be happier.

I served 22+ years in the Army...
What makes you think the Army can get you in faster? Have you checked with them?

What job did you get in the Navy? That makes a big difference... You might be able to go next week as infrantry, but not anything else...

Logistic Specialist, but if someone will free the spot I will take whatever job is suggested to me.
I am not talking about the next week shipping because I understand it is almost impossible. However, I would like to wait for 1-2 months, not 6.
I waited 6 months, it's fairly common, go to your recruiter, talk to him and tell him you'd like to ship earlier. I was offered sub AEF twice, and a couple of other jobs while in DEP waiting, I was a surface ET. Recruiters don't want you to wait either as it's more of a chance for you to screw up and loose your slot. My recruiter kept track of me, made me report in weekly, and I had to keep a job while in DEP.

I submitted the paper that allows them to send me as quick as possible, but the recruiter told me that it is not guaranteed that spot may appear until the shipping date. Do you think that the spot will appear?

Advice like yours is pretty poor. Just because it was a mistake for you does not mean it is going to be a mistake for someone else.
The job you select for the Army is going to drive your shipping date. We align your training based upon your AIT training date. Therefore, it is entirely possible that you have to wait even longer.
I personally would not make a decision based off who ships you sooner unless the ONLY thing you care about it getting off to training as soon as possible. However, that'll most likely mean "selecting" a job that you won't be happy with.
I understand that in the navy the people shooting at you always get shot back at. In the army you can be shot at and then told to NOT shoot back...Is this wrong?
