I have had a couple conversations with a recruiter. Hes asked all kinds of questions. To which I have answered. Then he callls back with another question. Then again with another question. I dont mind all that much. But the forth time he calls he says he cant do anything for me. This is why. I am 34 years old soon to be 35, 20 days to be exact. My question is Is this true? I thought I saw a post on here that said as long ss the process was started before I turned 35 I was good to go. Any insight would be greatly appreacited. Time is not on my side.
I would think that even in great shape you would be at a distinct disadvantage in boot camp trying to keep up with 18-20 year olds. The statistics are certainly not in your favor and your ranking would probably not get you the posting your would have liked.
He was doing you a favor at this stage in life and protecting his stats for boot camp completions. Technically you met the criteria, but realistically you would probably not excel.
At 34 I am in probably the best physical consition of my life. As for keeping up with younger 18 to 25 year olds. I can and I do. I train with high school and college athletes 3 times a week and do better than they. So I cany take that as an excuse.

Is there a different recruiter in town that you could talk to?
Are you sure age is the only issue? Were you set on getting into a particular MOS? Or being assigned to a particular post? Those could be issues in whether you are able to immediately enroll in the army.
I don't know what the age limits are, but have you considered a different branch of the armed services?
Army - 35 (must ship to basic training prior to 35th birthday. The Army experimented with raising the age limit to age 42 for a brief period of time, but effective April 1st, 2011, the Army has reverted to the lower age limit.
I don't know if you've considered the Marines, but the only thing an age waiver really intels above a normal enlistment is that you ahve o e able to complete a full Marine Corps PFT to get a waiver and get a 1st class score if you want the waiver approved. A typical enlistee only has to run a half PFT and has up to the point they go to boot camp to pass it and the recruiter will work with them. Heck they can go down to boot camp and fail it and they'll just put them in remedial, though it will be bad day for that recruiter in SNCOIC at home.
