I was born and raised in Michigan and I just love the state BUT due to the economy I was basically forced out of the state and now I am living in South Florida! Can we say UGH! All I want to do is move back home to Michigan but there are no freakin jobs and that sucks! If anyone is thinking about moving to Michigan and you have a job best of luck to you...go for it is what I say. It is a great place to live and if you are one of the luck ones to have a job keep it and don's leave and yes I'm jealouse!

I was born and raised here and am forced to get a job in Central FL. I think MI is becoming a depressing state, the business, the people, everything just screams "we're going under"

I am in North Carolina which has become a huge destination state. Whilke MI. has become the number 1 place people are moving from. Many from Fla are moving here.

For my husband and I, our professions are anything that doesn't require a college degree! We are still both in college. But the fact that we have 3 kids kind of requires that we have decent jobs!!! Anyone hiring?

The North Carolina forums are full of people fleeing the Northern states as well as Florida. Neither Florida nor Michigan "get it right."

I've got two jobs. That's one of my main reasons for leaving the state hopefully by the end of the year.

Have to remember it may seem the grass seem better outside Michigan but all the states have some kind of problem. it will seem better in FL and south till hurricane season come through. Ya know most people saying they can't find a job are the one who don't have the right degree or picked the wrong field to major in. Watch for NC taxes to go up as what happened in Fl they rise everything and the people are running from one state to next. so where do all NC people run to next? home is always best place to be. Everyone has something to say about jobs just look at NC get outside the two major area and you will find one the poorest part of America. Just like Tn east Tn always in new asking for help from people to pay for food for people who live thee. Just think twice before you go. Detroit actually is in top 20 for job markets for one of the hottest. Check monster.com for that.

I graduated from Wayne State with a degree in Education, who would have thought Michigan was going to overcrowd their schools and lose such a huge taxbase 4 years ago.

I also have family members who have lost jobs as truck drivers, secretaries, and bank tellers.

JJ, I've lived in other states as well as overseas, and sure every state is going to have it's issues. Thankfully, very, very few have the issues that MI is now facing.
